Jeppesen (stand 821, Hall A) and Rockwell Collins (stand 1011, Hall A) are to join forces to develop electronic flight bag (EFB) technology.
The partnership will see Jeppesen’s software and data, including moving and en-route maps, mated to Rockwell Collins hardware, software and support network.
The companies will offer airline and military operators EFBs tailored to their particular needs.
Mark Harris, vice-president of e-flight for Rockwell Collins, says: “We are excited to be ushering in a new era of information management to the aviation industry by teaming with Jeppesen.”
Thomas Wede, Jeppesen senior vice-president, says: “We have combined the best strengths of both companies to offer our customers flexible, industry-proven EFB solutions that fit their operational needs.”
Jeppesen has also formalised a contract with Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) for the supply of OPSControl – Jeppesen’s flight operations management system. Under another agreement announced at Asian Aerospace it will also provide Aeroflot with its e-Link online chart access, Class 1 EFB terminal chart software and data distribution and management (DDM) system.
Jeppesen has also announced that it has been granted US Federal Aviation Administration operational approval for its class 1 and 2 EFB terminal chart viewer.
