Sir - The main reason for Jet Aviation's success in outfitting and customising aircraft interiors is missed in Julian Moxon's article "An inside story" (Flight International, 22-28 November).
In the 1970s and 1980s, as chief pilot of a presidential flight of five business jets, I had experience of Jet Aviation's outstanding standard of major maintenance - the best in Europe and probably anywhere else - which contributed to our enviable safety record.
Over the years, my presidential crew relied heavily on Jet's high maintenance-standard, and it was that which persuaded us to use its outfitting services as well. We were never disappointed. Jet's ability to react with flexibility kept our aircraft flying, or available, continuously.
Prestige customers bring their aircraft to Jet for outfitting because they are impressed with the company's overall efficiency.
