Low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways will offer its extra legroom seats on its new Airbus A321s, following a recent move to extend the product offering to its Embraer 190s.
The airline's chief executive Dave Barger says that it is not clear yet how many of the 190 seats on the carrier's new A321s will have extra legroom, but he adds that the ratio should be comparable to what it currently offers on its A320s, at the Boyd Group International Aviation Forecast Summit in Dallas today.
Called Even More Space, the extra legroom product is available on 42 out of 150 seats on the carrier's A320s. JetBlue expects to take delivery of its first four A321s in the fourth quarter of 2013.
JetBlue has completed reconfiguring its E-190s with more even more space seats, says Barger. Under the reconfiguration, two additional rows of extra legroom seats were added to the aircraft. With the additions, four rows of seats on the aircraft, or 16 seats, now have extra legroom.
The seat pitch for these seats ranges from 38 inches to 39 inches, while the other seats have a seat pitch of 34 inches.
