Planned Singaporean cargo start-up Jett Air Cargo aims to launch operations in the middle of the year with Boeing 747 “Classic” freighters.
Industry sources say Jett Air Cargo, which has also registered the business name Jett Airlines Cargo, aims to launch operations as early as May with two 747-200Fs on dry lease.
Jett originally planned to launch with 747-400Fs, but a lack of aircraft for lease led it to choose the older-model 747, say the sources. They add that the company has started to apply for an air operator’s certificate from the Singapore authorities and plans to launch services to destinations in Asia and later start services linking Singapore with Europe and the USA.
