AgustaWestland has sold three Agusta A119s to China’s Jianshu General Aviation in Nanjing. Jianshu agreed to purchase the aircraft earlier this month and will become the first A119 operator in China when the helicopters are delivered in early April next year, says AgustaWestland Asia sales director Fulvio Maurogiovanni.
He says that AgustaWestland is now in the process of certificating the A119 with the Civil Aviation Administration of China, but does not expect it will take long because six twin-engined A109s are already operating in the country.
Zhengzhou Police became the first Chinese operator to acquire the A119 last year, but Maurogiovanni says a delivery date for this aircraft has still not been set and the Jianshu helicopters will arrive first.
