Newly trained airline pilots are being given the chance to improve their job prospects by undergoing line acceptance checks with UK charter carrier Astreus after obtaining a Boeing 737 type-rating.

The training deal will be on offer in October from Bond Aviation Solutions, the training division of Astreus, says the airline's commercial director Jonathan Hinkles.

Astreus, which operates 737-700s, will charge pilots £23,000 ($37,000) for a type-rating, followed by the required hours of line flying to pass the European Joint Aviation Authorities line check.
