For once job creation is on the agenda. British Airways is taking on 1,000 new employees to continue the build-up of the London/Gatwick hub, which includes the transfer of most of its African network from Heathrow. KLM will add 2,500 cabin crew over the next three years to cover its increase in global capacity and Boeing expects to employee 7,000 workers by 1997, including some earlier made redundant.
