SkyWest is setting up a joint turboprop operation with Continental based around a Houston, Texas, hub. The 50:50 venture will involve setting up a fleet of "between 10 and 12" Embraer EMB-120s, shared with Continental. "They had a few extra Brasilias and so did we," says SkyWest chief executive Jerry Atkin. The Continental aircraft will be reactivated from storage, while the SkyWest aircraft are expected to come from the regional carrier's fleet of 74.
