Pratt & Whitney (P&W) marketing executive Mary Ellen Jones has been named president of Engine Alliance, the 50/50 joint venture between General Electric (GE) and P&W.
Jones, who most recently led P&W's commercial engines and global services marketing, succeeds Jim Moravecek at Engine Alliance. Moravecek will return to P&W in a new leadership position.
"I am pleased to have the opportunity to lead the Engine Alliance during an exciting time when the GP7200 is doing so well in service, and we have additional [Airbus] A380 aircraft with GP7200 engines entering service," says Jones. "It is also an honour to succeed Jim Moravecek, whose leadership has helped this joint venture become even more successful."
Throughout her career with P&W, Jones has held positions of increasing responsibility both domestically and internationally in sales, government relations and communications.
P&W could not provide immediate comment about Moravecek's new role at the engine manufacturer. Moravecek succeeded Bruce Hughes as president of Engine Alliance in June 2008.
