Aérospatiale, Alenia and British Aerospace have agreed to merge their regional aircraft activities. The joint venture will initially see the merger of marketing, sales and customer support areas of ATR, Avro and Jetstream, followed by joint development on new products. The deal will see production of the 70-seat Jetstream 61 phased out.
