Swiss block charter jet club Aviace is to sign its first distributor within months, after Wilfried Köck, president of lessor Airfleet Credit, agreed to take a one-seventh share in the company as the first club is incorporated in France.

Aviace ordered 112 Eclipse 500 personal jets at the European Business Aircraft Convention and Exhibition in June. It will establish sales distributors around Europe in clubs of 10-20 owners, with stakes of 50-700h a year. Aircraft will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis when clubs reach eight members.

Köck says: "The need for swift and safe direct travel is increasing, and meeting that need, at reasonable rates, is the smartest thing that's been done in a long time." Chief executive Hilmar Hilmarsson says that Köck will bring experience and contacts to the business.
