Korean Air (KAL) has emerged as the third airline customer after Air France and KLM for the extended-range Boeing 747-400ER Freighter. The airline placed the three-aircraft order last December without making it public. Deliveries are due in May and November 2003, and March 2004.

KAL's aircraft will be the first powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines. Other 747-400ERs and -400ERF airline customers Air France, KLM and Qantas have selected General Electric CF6 engines.
