Charles Kaman, founder and chief executive of US helicopter company, Kaman of Bloomfield, Connecticut, is to be awarded the 1996 US National Medal of Technology in recognition of his "-revolutionising rotary-wing flight through innovations which have made helicopters more stable and easier to fly".
