Two Air Technology Group companies return to the show for a second time to present new products and win new friends in the aerospace industry.

Aircontrol Technologies is here with its crew temperature-control system, destined for the Eurofighter. And sister company Airscrew has announced a contract to supply instrument-panel cooling fans to Bell Helicopter in Canada.

Aircontrol Technologies entered the aerospace industry over the past couple of years, building on its ground-based military technologies.

Sales manager Martin Hart says the company is making good headway in commercial aviation. "We're supplying cabin heaters to Airbus contractor Leibherr," he says. "Some customers are giving up cargo space on the A340-500 and -600 to create crew rest areas. Our temperature-control systems will be used to keep them comfortable."

In the air Eurofighter pilots will be hooked up to Aircontrol Technologies-built vapour-cycle temperature-control systems. On the ground a separate unit will keep aircrew cool while suited up in the crewroom and in the cockpit before APU start.

Aircontrol Technologies is also showing its aircraft cabin-odour filtration systems, developed with airlines in the Far East and Australasia. Airscrew, specialising in off-the-shelf fans and fan heaters, motors and generators, is to supply cooling fans for the Bell 427 helicopter.
