Always the innovator, Alan Klapmeier is testing out new ideas for the interior of the Kestrel single-engine turboprop that he expects to bring to market in about three years.
At the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture show in Oshkosh in late July, Klapmeier revealed a cabin mock-up complete with luxurious leather seating in club arrangement, with a portable bar and service area in the aft section of the cabin, opposite the main cabin door.
Perhaps the most radical aspect of the service cabinet was a pull-out potty that rotates out from the base of the bar, an element Kestrel hoped to gain feedback about from visitors at the show.
