LEEDS/BRADFORD Airport, UK-based Knight Air has sold its four domestic routes and is concentrating on expanding its engineering business. The four routes, to Aberdeen, Belfast, Isle of Man and Southampton, together with Knight Air's two new Jetstream 31s, have been taken over by Manx Airlines Europe and will be operated in British Airways Express livery.

The carrier continues to operate a fleet of Embraer Bandeirantes and Cessna Citations on corporate and charter work.

Knight Air is taking advantage of the 24h operation at Leeds/ Bradford Airport and is accelerating plans to extend its hangar capacity with a £6 million new-build programme. In addition to providing maintenance support for UK-registered aircraft operating in the Netherlands, the company has contracts with UK airlines flying into Leeds, including British Midland, City-Flyer Express, Gill Airways and Manx Airlines Europe.

Knight Air is part of the Lambson Group.
