Korea Telecom and the South Korean High Gain Antenna company will co-operate in the $194 million development of a national communications satellite providing broadband, multimedia and traditional services to the Asia Pacific region. The spacecraft, to be launched in 2003, will be South Korea's first indigenously-developed communications satellite, following three Lockheed Martin-built Koreasat craft, named Mugunghua.
