The South Korean government has ordered a Challenger 604 business jet for its National Maritime Police for a surveillance role.

The aircraft is scheduled to enter service in the second quarter of 2001. This is the first of up to five aircraft required by the Koreans for this role.

Candian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier teamed up with Aerodata Flugmesstechnik of Germany to make the bid and Bombardier's Peter Edwards (right) and Aerodata's Peter Vorsmann joined to toast the new venture with steins of Champagne outside the Challenger on the static park.
