Kras Air has taken delivery of its first Tupolev Tu-204 twinjet. The two-year-old Aviadvigatel PS-90-powered -100 model was repossessed by Tu-204 manufacturer Aviastar from previous operator Transeuropean Airlines due to failure to make lease payments, and has been sold to Kras Air following refurbishment. The twinjet is configured with a two class 160-seat cabin (20 business and 140 economy) used on scheduled services from the airline's Krasnoyarsk base in central Siberia to Moscow, and on charter flights to the Middle East and China. The first of two new Tu-204-100s that Kras Air is acquiring on lease is undergoing acceptance trials, and should be delivered before its 2001 summer season starts.
