Aero Vodochody is to offer its new L-159 light-attack aircraft/trainer for South Africa's jet-trainer requirement. The South African Air Force is looking for replacements for its Atlas Impalas.
A contract, is expected to be awarded, towards the end of next year. Other contenders for the contract are the Aermacchi MB.339, British Aerospace Hawk, and the Russian MiG-MAPO MiG-AT trainer.
