Manufacturer reveals global raft of business as it opens refurbished production hall

Czech manufacturer Let Aircraft Industries has received orders to build or refurbish six of a forecast eight L-410 utility aircraft this year, while the Kunovice-based company has also opened a refurbished production hall to support its business expansion plan.

Aircraft Industries says its order comprises two new airframes each for customers in Brazil and South Korea, and one refurbished platform each for users in Algeria and Brazil. "We also expect to see about 15 aircraft go through significant service work and upgrades at the [Kunovice] facility," it adds. The company's refurbished assembly hall was opened during February.

South Korea's Forest Service on 5 March took delivery of an upgraded L-410 UVP-E20 surveillance aircraft that had been modified with a single-point pressurised refuelling system in the Czech Republic. The surveillance aircraft entered service with Seoul's Forest Aviation Office in 2002. Take Air Martinique also took delivery of its second new L-410 UVP-E20 last month.

Aircraft Industries expects to receive a contract soon to install a Swedish Space-produced maritime surveillance system in an L-410 for an existing north European customer. It will be used to support border protection activities, the company says.
