More than 130 aerospace companies from the North West of England are exhibiting together under the banner of the Consortium of Lancashire Aerospace (CLA) at Paris '97.

Many of the businesses, which range in size from industry giants such as British Aerospace and Rolls-Royce to firms with less than 20 employees, will be making their debut at the show.

The consortium has already attracted support from the British government through several regeneration initiatives, and recently won financial backing from the European Regional Development Fund.

The funding has been used to ensure that small to medium-sized companies have the chance to appear before the world market in a cost-effective way.

CLA's Gill Beeley says the aim is to improve on the 1995 showing at Le Bourget when the consortium netted an estimated £10 million worth of new business.

The consortium can be found in Hall2/H14.
