Vlamir Domic Cárdenas, since taking over in August as general manager of LanPeru, has wasted no time in announcing his intention to grow the four-year-old airline.

Replacing Sergio Purcell, who has retired, Domic says he will soon unveil a plan that includes adding a second Airbus A320, new Caribbean routes, and codeshares with LanChile to Europe. Domic, like his successor, is Chilean. He is both a commercial engineer and lawyer in administrative sciences. For the past 10 years he has worked at LanChile Cargo, latterly as its manager of finance and corporate development. Domic graduated from the same Catholic University of Chile as Enrique Cueto, LanChile's head.

LanPeru shares Peru's skies with Taca Peru and AeroContinente. It was formed as the first of several Latin airlines affiliated with LanChile, which owns a minority stake. LanPeru serves seven domestic cities, flies in its own name to the Dominican Republic and Miami. It has been struggling to match Taca Peru's expansion since the latter took over all the international routes of defunct AeroPeru.
