Businessmen planning to work while they travel no longer need to carry a spare laptop battery, thanks to a collaboration between Primex Aerospace and Airline Interiors, both part of the Simula group.
The two companies have developed a system called Empower which allows passengers to connect their laptops to the aircraft's power supply by plugging into an in-seat socket.
The developers (Hall 2, Stand A31), sought advice from leading laptop manufacturers to establish a common DC supply voltage and input connector.
