French aerostructures manufacturer Latécoère is boosting its design and electrical production capabilities with two acquisitions. The company has agreed to buy the remaining 44.5% of shares of BEAT for €2.8 million ($4.8 million), making it sole owner of the aerostructures design bureau. BEAT has an annual turnover of around €25 million, of which 30% comes from Latécoère. Latécoère is also acquiring SLE (Société Landaise d’Electronique) through its subsidiary LATelec for E3.5 million. The deal will bolster LATelec’s business with Dassault Aviation and in particular on the 7X business jet, which has its final assembly line nearby at Bordeaux-Merignac.
