When I checked in at Paphos, Cyprus, for a return flight to London Gatwick, I was not asked any of the usual security questions about baggage.

At Paphos, passengers have to carry their own baggage to X-ray machines. I was not used to this and was allowed through into the departure lounge with what was obviously not cabin baggage. I then had to retrace my steps through security and was only stopped once when a police officer asked me to turn out my pockets.

However, I still believe that passengers must grasp that air safety is also their responsibility.
