Aircraft lessor AerCap, formerly known as Debis AirFinance, has signed a letter of intent to acquire 70 Airbus A320 family aircraft.
The new order, announced during the Dubai Air Show, will take the lessor’s Airbus portfolio to more than 170 aircraft. A choice of engines for the newly-ordered narrowbodies has yet to be disclosed.
Debis was acquired by US-based investor Cerberus Capital Management in June and last month rebranded under the AerCap name.
AerCap CEO Klaus Heinemann says: “We are excited about building on the long-standing relationship between Airbus and AerCap with this new order.”
