German maintenance provider Lufthansa Technik is due to sign a component support contract with tour operator TUI for its Boeing 787 fleet.
The agreement covers engine-related components for 13 aircraft at four TUI group carriers, said August Wilhelm Henningsen, LHT's chief executive, at the company's financial results presentation in Hamburg on 19 March. It is due to be finalised shortly.
This will be the MRO company's third 787 support deal after Japan Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines selected it for full component support in 2012.
Henningsen says that LHT suffered no financial impact as a result of the 787 groundings in January, which followed a series of battery faults.
The maintenance provider also revealed that Malaysian Airlines has selected Spairliners - LHT's component MRO joint venture with Air France Industries - to support its A380 fleet.
