Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has been appointed by a Middle Eastern customer to design and install a VIP interior for a Boeing 747-400 airliner. The project, the company's eleventh VIP widebody airliner contract, will take 16 months and around 300,000 man-hours, says the company. Work is to start next month at LHT's Hamburg, Germany-based completion centre. The new interior will boast sleeping quarters, conference and work room and airborne entertainment systems.

Lufthansa Technik is working concurrently on a second VIP747-400 for a private customer.
