Lion Group has increased its firm orders for Cessna 172 trainer aircraft from eight to 20, with options for an additional 20.
The group has received 14 of the 20 aircraft, says Audy Punuh, head of Lion's Wings Flying School.
Lion is also expecting to take delivery of four Cessna 172 aircraft between August and September. It will likely firm up options for another two of the type, and take delivery of four more aircraft in the November-December period.
Meanwhile, the Lion Training Centre will receive its third simulator from Canadian manufacturer CAE for Boeing 737-900ER aircraft.
This simulator is due to be installed this month, says Henry Biantoro, head of the Lion Training Centre.
A Lion spokesman adds that the carrier eventually plans to operate a total of 21 simulators for 737, Airbus A320 family and ATR aircraft.
