McDonnell Douglas has appointed Dr David Spong vice-president of the air-vehicle integrated product team for the C-17 military-transport programme. He was formerly a Northrop programme manager and deputy chief engineer for the Northrop Grumman/McDonnell Douglas advanced tactical fighter programme.
