Lockheed Martin has received a $6.53 billion addition to its $33 billion contract to develop the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The contract modification covers the cost of the re-baselining that extends the development programme by 18 months to 2013, and includes additional work associated with training, alternate mission equipment, survivability improvements, precision-guided weapons and radar modifications.
