Veteran astronaut Brian Duffy has joined Lockheed Martin's Consolidated Space Operations Contract (CSOC) division as the Kennedy Space Centre associate programme manager.

Duffy commanded the STS-92 Shuttle mission to the International Space Station in October 2000 that attached the first truss structure, allowing the first solar array to be attached and further assembly of the station to continue. He had previously flown three missions between 1992 and 1996.

CSOC has a $3 billion contract to supply end-to-end mission and data services to Nasa and non-Nasa customers.
