Lockheed Martin has been given the go-ahead by the US Air Force to continue preparing and launching Titan 4 and Titan 2 vehicles from Cape Canaveral, Florida, and Vandenberg AFB, California, until 2003. The $2.5 billion contract is part of an original Titan 4 deal for 41 vehicles and the refurbishment of 12 Titan 2 intercontinental ballistic missiles. Another six Titan 4s could be ordered for launches beyond 2003.
