Lockheed Martin has invested $10 million in the Kistler Aerospace project to develop a re-usable launcher system, by providing the booster assembly operations. The company has also initiated a $330 million contract from the US Air Force to integrate spacecraft on to 20 Titan IV and five Titan II boosters. The contract includes retrospective payment for the preparation of payloads for three Titan IVs launched in October and November 1997. Three Titan IV and two Titan II vehicles are due to be launched in 1998.
