Albert Smith has been appointed president of Lockheed Missiles & Space space-systems division. Minoru Sam Araki, now executive vice-president of Lockheed Missiles & Space Systems Group (LMSSG), is named president of Lockheed Missiles & Space. Dain Hancock, now vice-president for F-16 programmes, becomes president of Lockheed Fort Worth. John McLellan, executive vice-president of Lockheed Aeronautical Systems, becomes president of the company. Smith succeeds Don Tang, who is to retire at the end of March; Araki replaces Vance Coffman, president designee of Lockheed Martin Space and Missiles sector. Hancock succeeds Gordon England, who is to retire; and McLellan replaces Micky Blackwell, president-designee of Lockheed Martin's Aeronautics sector. Smith was formerly the division's vice- president and assistant general manager for commercial programmes, where he was replaced by David Klinger, who was most recently, vice president of military-satellite communications programmes. He is replaced by Myles Crandall, formerly deputy of programme operations and planning for military-satellite communications. Klinger will succeed Mel Brashears, who becomes executive vice-president of LMSSG.
