UK regional carrier Loganair is introducing a new aircraft type to its turboprop operations.
The Flybe franchise partner will take delivery of three Saab 2000s over the next three months as it expand operations from Aberdeen this summer.
Loganair has received the first aircraft and will start operations with the 50-seater mid-April.
Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows that the 1995-vintage Saab 2000 aircraft (MSN 013) is leased from Rockton Aviation. It was previously operated by Braathens Regional.
A second aircraft is set to start services on 21 April, while a third will be based in Edinburgh and used between the Scottish capital and Sumburgh from June.
All three Saab 2000s are leased, chief operating officer Phil Preston told local media.
Loganair is adding more flights this summer, particularly between Sumburgh and Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The Scottish carrier is also adding capacity between Kirkwall and Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
Loganair operates 16 Saab 340s, two de Havilland DHC-6s as well as five Fairchild Dornier 328s, Ascend shows.
