LOT Polish Airlines has ordered an additional nine Embraer ERJ-145 regional jets bringing its total firm commitments for the Brazilian type to 15 aircraft. The latest deal includes the conversion of six options, plus three new orders.

The Polish flag carrier received its first ERJ-145 last July and has four in service. LOT chief executive officer Jan Litwinski says the airline is "very satisfied" with the aircraft, which is being acquired to enable frequencies on key business routes to be increased by replacing Boeing 737s. The ERJ-145s are deployed mainly from Polish cities to Germany, Switzerland and Norway, but also serve Brussels, Budapest, Manchester and St Petersburg.
