Lucas Aerospace is making an impressive display highlighting its depth of technology, breadth of systems capability, global scale and powerful financial backing on its stand.

The firm highlights a video/multi-media technology centre and free-standing interactive CD-ROM stations featuring the Lucas Aerospace story, along with a multi-media presentation on the 'all electric aircraft', for which Lucas Aerospace is a major contributor.

This is the first international show in which Lucas Aerospace exhibits as part of TRW, whose acquisition of the company was finalised last month.

To demonstrate the depth of its technology, Lucas Aerospace has a number of products on display such as the Bombardier CRJ-700 thrust reverser actuation system.

A recent win for Lucas Aerospace, the Airbus A340-500/600 rudder actuator is also displayed.

In the area of engine controls, the company is showing its full authority digital engine control (FADEC) 2001, a rugged engine control designed to meet the budgets and schedules of the business and regional jet markets, with entry into service expected in 2001.

Also being displayed is the Eurofighter Typhoon EJ200 main fuel metering unit, which meters fuel flow to the engine burners under closed loop control from the digital engine control unit.

Lucas Aerospace is a major supplier of missile control actuation. The company supplies the steering control section and thrust vector actuation for Raytheon's SM-2 missile which will be demonstrated on the stand.
