Lufthansa is to expand its long-range fleet by the addition of two Airbus A340-300s and two Boeing 747-400s. It has also formed two new subsidiaries. The board also approved the transfer of 550 accounting staff dealing with passenger operations to a new subsidiary, LRS Lufthansa Revenue Service in Norderstedt, as well as the transfer of 500 Lufthansa Technik materials-management staff into the new Lufthansa Technik Logistik company.
