Lufthansa has cancelled approximately 1,700 flights in total for today and 30 November as pilot union Vereinigung Cockpit has begun another round of industrial action after a four-day strike a week ago.
The airline says that 816 flights have been cancelled today as the strike covers short-haul services only.
On 30 November, the action will affect both short- and long-haul services, and Lufthansa has cancelled 890 flights.
The Star Alliance carrier estimates that a around 180,000 passengers in total will be affected by the industrial action during the two days.
Lufthansa tried to stop the fresh walkout through legal action before a labour court in Munich. But the court rejected the case.
