German flag-carrier Lufthansa is not interrupting its Airbus A380 operations despite Australia's Qantas opting to ground its fleet after an uncontained engine failure.
Lufthansa is one of three carriers operating A380s with the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine, the same powerplant fitted to the Qantas jet.
"We are looking in to data from our engine condition monitoring," says a spokesman for Lufthansa. He adds that the carrier is also waiting for any advisory from Rolls-Royce on the matter.
But he says that the airline is not planning to suspend A380 services.
Singapore Airlines, the third Trent 900-powered A380 user, has already stated that it will not ground its own fleet of the double-deck aircraft.
