Lufthansa stake cleared

Lufthansa has been cleared to increase its stake in bmi british midland to 30% by the German competition authorities. However, Lufthansa, which already owns 20% of the UK carrier, has not made a formal offer for the shares. Sir Michael Bishop owns 60% of the carrier, with the remaining 20% held by SAS.
