Martin-Baker (Hall 2B, Stand K11) is celebrating reaching a historic milestone of 7,000 lives saved thanks to its ejection seats.

Lieutenant Commander Robert Schwab RN successfully ejected from a Sea Harrier FA2 during a test flight off the coast of Devon, England on 11 June.

He was recovered from the sea uninjured after pulling the handle on his Martin-Baker Mk 10H ejection seat when the aircraft entered a spin at 28,000ft.

"The entire workforce is immensely proud that the ejection seats they produce have safely returned so many aviators to their families," said Martin-Baker managing director James Martin. "During 55 years of continuous ejection seat manufacture, we have supplied more than 92 air forces and produced 70,000 ejection seats.

"We never lose sight of the fact that one in 10 of the ejection seats we manufacture will be used to save a life."
