CAM-Macau International Airport and Macau's Administration of Airports have extended their services agreement for two years.

"In the concession contract granted by the Macau SAR, CAM will be responsible for the management and administration of airport financial activities as well as of sub-concession activities, while ADA will provide airport management and operational services," says Macau International Airport.

On 29 July, Macau International Airport announced that passenger and cargo traffic continued to drop drastically in the second quarter of 2009, with the outlook remaining bleak for the rest of the year.

The airport said that it handled 1.03 million passengers in the April-June period, down 25.4% from a year before. Cargo traffic was 61.2% lower at 11,877 tonnes, and aircraft movements fell by 21.2% to 10,369.

For the first half of the year, passenger traffic was 24.1% lower at 2.06 million passengers and cargo traffic was down 64% at 21,701 tonnes. Aircraft movements fell by 22.4% to 20,840.
