Malaysia's Unmanned System Technologies joint venture completed flight trials in September of a new tactical unmanned air vehicle, and plans to roll out its first production-standard example by year-end. Likely to be demonstrated to the Malaysian armed forces in early 2007, the latter design is expected to be slightly heavier than a previously projected 100kg (220lb) total weight, including a 25kg payload with electro-optical sensors.
