New Maltese carrier Efly has started operations using a British Aerospace 146-300 aircraft configured in a single class.
The airline will initially serve Catania on Sicily with an average of 10 services per week, but is also negotiating as-yet unspecified wet-lease and charter work.
"The plan for growth is there but nothing [definite] yet - we have Rome maybe in the plan," says an Efly spokesman.
"We are working on wet-lease and charters, they will probably be Italian."
Efly plans to add a further 146-300.
