Russia’s RSK MIG is to slash its management ranks by 40% in a bid to cut costs. “The programme envisions reducing the management of the corporation by 40% by the turn of 2005 in order to match the strength of the corporation with the real workload,” says RSK MIG. “Assets saved are expected to be used to raise wages of qualified employees, developing the Mikoyan Design Bureau, and efforts to develop new aircraft.”
