-Airbus Industrie is to take up its option on a fifth A300-600ST Super Transporter, for delivery in 2001, to meet higher demand for transporting aircraft components around Europe as the production rate increases.

-Gulf Air has completed the sale and leaseback of six of its 13 Airbus A320s to recently created Middle-Eastern leasing company Oasis International Leasing, which is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The deal is valued at $195 million. The lease terms extend from four to six years.

-Air Atlanta Icelandic has taken delivery of a 1972-built Lockheed L-1011 TriStar 1 from Trans World Airlines, in a deal arranged by Fortis Aviation. TWA phased out its remaining TriStars in September 1997, and retired its last three Boeing 747s during February this year.

-Aero Peru is to add two ex-Southern International Airlines Boeing 727-100s from S-C Aircraft Financing, with C-S Aviation Services acting as manager.

-Brit Air has taken up an option on a single Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet Series 100, for delivery in October 1998.

-Alberta Citylink, a feeder to AirBC and Air Canada, is the first Canadian customer for British Aerospace Asset Management's Jetstream 32EP enhanced-performance upgrade. Medicine Hat-based Citylink will upgrade its J32. It also operates three J31s.

-Air Nostrum has added two ex-Royal Brunei Fokker 50s on four-year lease, in a transaction arranged by Aircraft Financing and Trading.

-Aer Lingus has ordered a General Electric CF6-80A4-powered Airbus A330-200 for delivery in April 1999, which will be operated alongside its five larger A330-300s. An option has also been placed.

 

-Magna Air, the Austrian Cessna Citation V and Dassault Falcon 900 operator, has placed an order for an Airbus A319 Corporate Jet.

-Kenya Airways has leased two ex-Aer Lingus Boeing 737-200Advs in a deal which has been arranged by European Capital.
