-British Airways subsidiary Brymon Airways is to aquire eight more de Havilland Dash 8-300s on lease from Bombardier Aerospace. The new Dash 8Q models will replace some of the airline's existing Dash 8s, and serve new routes. Deliveries will begin in April and continue through to early 1999.

-Lufthansa CityLine has received clearance from its supervisory board for the acquisition of three more Canadair Regional Jets. The aircraft will be delivered in the first quarter of 1999, expanding the fleet to 34 aircraft.

-American International Airways has taken delivery of its second and third Boeing 747-200 Combis from Middle East Airlines. The two aircraft will be modified into freighters at Boeing's Wichita centre in Kansas, with work starting in June and ending in October.

-National Jet Systems has purchased a BAe 146-100 from British Aerospace Asset Management Jets (AMJ). Meanwhile, Formula One Administration has purchased a 1983 BAe 146-100 from Barclays Mercantile Business Finance in a deal arranged by AMJ.

-Atlas Air has announced a multi-year contract with China Airlines, with the placement of an additional Boeing 747-200 freighter to the carrier. The 747 is now undergoing conversion from passenger to freighter configuration at Wichita, Kansas.

-The sale of Thai International's three McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30ERs to Alliance Airinvest, a division of Fortis Aviation, for onward sale, has been confirmed. Northwest Airlines is expected to be the new operator. Fortis says that it is now in discussions with Thai about the acquisition of its BAe 146-300s and Airbus A300B4 fleets.

-Lufthansa Cargo has placed orders for three additional Boeing MD-11Fs for delivery in 1999. The first of five MD-11Fs ordered in 1995 will be delivered in late 1998.

-Swissair has signed a firm contract for nine Airbus A340-600s, confirming the commitment placed in December 1997.
